Mission & Values
Our ultimate goal is to understand how the genome is organized in eukaryotic cells and what happens when this is disrupted in disease conditions. To achieve this, we develop and apply state-of-the-art experimental and computational methods, with a focus on microscopy and sequencing-based methods to map DNA, RNA, and proteins in cells and tissues.
We strive to do high-quality, reproducible, and impactful research with an open science approach. We make our tools, protocols, and data publicly available, and aim to communicate the scope and results of our research to the general public.
In the BiCro Labs, we believe that trustable and impactful scientific advancements can only come from a culture that values kindness, honesty, collaboration, and mutual respect in addition to scientific rigor, transparency, and reproducibility. We value diversity at all levels and are committed to ensuring a safe, friendly, and welcoming environment free of prejudices, harassment, and discrimination. We also believe that inspiring and empowering women in science is key to shape a new research paradigm based on collaboration, kindness, and mutual help rather than aggressive competition.
